IDRC Background
A group of racers, enthusiasts and tuners that desired to take import drag racing to new heights established the Import Drag Racing Circuit, Inc. (IDRC) in February of 1998. Now in its sixth season, the IDRC has established itself as the leader in the import and sport compact performance events arena. The IDRC has delivered the most events, the highest turnouts, the most competitive racing action and the most publicity and coverage to the fast-growing sport of import drag racing. In 1998, the IDRC produced two events, had a peak single-event attendance of 5000 spectators. For 2003, the IDRC has scheduled 13 events with a projected single-event attendance over 30,000 and a series attendance projected to reach over 180,000. Today, coverage of IDRC events can be found in numerous national magazines, local newspapers, videos and both local and national cable television.

The key to our success has been simple---entertain the fans, support the racers and deliver to our marketing partners (sponsors). We have delivered peak entertainment value by delivering up to six heads-up classes at a single event while combining forces with the Evolution One car show to provide an incredible entertainment experience. For the racers, we have continued to lead in support with 2003 event and series payouts budgeted to exceed a half-million dollars (with an additional $1.5 million posted in available contingency). For our sponsors and marketing partners, increased print, regional, radio and television programming will provide pre-event, at event and post-event exposure at three times 2002 levels.
