make history again. This time the event will be bigger and better than

River City Raceway has a place in sport compact
drag racing history. On November 11th, 2001, an incredible race took
place. Under the sun of San Antonio, the Hoyos Racing Ford Focus driven
by Matt Hartford and the AEM Drag Civic of Stephan Papadakis faced off
at the IDRC’s quickest central-division track. Handicapped by a
full-second head start, Stephan Papadakis took off and never looked back
blasting to a new FWD world-record of 8.12-seconds at 180mph. Beating
Steph by just a hundredth of a second, Matt charged to a new IDRC Pro
Class record with a 7.07 at over 195mph.
O'reilly Auto Parts will also be the title sponsor
of the IDRC's Long Horn Nationals race scheduled for November 9th and
10th. As the second to last event in the IDRC's 2002 series, this event
is expected to also set new records for the state.
