ACT Signs On for Another Record Setting Event

(Reading, PA) - Just days after the announcement that AUTO TRADER® entered into a multi-year agreement with the IDRC to produce the leading import and sport compact event series in the world, the great news continues for the "By the Racers, For the Racers" organization. Today, Advanced Clutch Technology (ACT) of Lancaster, California (www.advancedclutch.com) signed on as the event title sponsor for the 2002 ACT IDRC East Coast Nationals. This event will take place this weekend at Maple Grove Raceway in Reading, Pennsylvania and the record books will be rewritten.

The Turbonetics Celica and driver Matt Scranton are ready, willing and able to become the first import doorslammer past the 200-mph mark. This controversial V8 has pounded the pavement in Gainesville at 199mph in its debut. Now, its time to crank up the boost and lay down the law. The four-cylinder force of David Buschur will rock the house will 7-second Diamond Star performance in his 2002 season debut. The race will also feature the current Quick Class championship points leaders Saverio Leone as all of the racers look to set new world records at the quickest track in the country. Last year’s Quick Class runner-up Mike Crawford and Outlaw Class runner-up Carlos Montano (Pepe Loco) are also expected to make their 2002 IDRC returns with hopes of finishing first in 2002.

It’s a race, it’s a show, it is a party like no other. In car show competition, the expanded Meguiar’s Movement One car show will feature additional classes with an expected draw of 150 to 200 of the top show cars. If you been waiting to race where you will get respect, get noticed and get paid, then 2002 ACT IDRC East Coast Nationals is the place to be this weekend. The SR-1 Team Drag Challenge will determine which East Coast crew is the quickest. Over $25,000 in payouts and over a $1,000,000 in championship series contingency will be posted.
