IDRC Mid-Summer Nationals

Saturday & Sunday, July 28th & 29th, 2001
On June 22nd, our import and sport compact culture hits the national
big
screen with the premiere of Universal’s The Fast & The Furious motion
picture. This picture will give the country a peek at the passion that
fuels
the X- and Y-generations need for speed. IDRC’s street promotion teams
will
blanket the theaters, infiltrate the clubs, canvas the colleges and
deliver
to the tuners over 50,000 official event programs. A direct mail
campaign
will hit another 10-to-20,000 enthusiasts in California.
What’s all this promotion for? The IDRC’s biggest promotion to date is
for
what looks to be the most exciting and entertaining event in the short
history of this industry. Unmatched championship drag racing,
grudge-match
qualifying, an interactive manufacturer’s midway, live concert by So
Cal’s
hottest band (Cacawates), national break dancing competition and the
always-popular Ultimate Body Contest. A record crowd will see the only
2001
West Coast appearance of the World’s Fastest Sport Compact, the
7.47-second,187-mph Nelson Hoyos Ford Focus. The Mitsubishi’s of Brent
Rau
and Sean Glazar will make the cross-country trek with plans of shutting
down
all the stars in the Honda camp. The IDRC stage will feature live bands
along with an incredible breaking contest to make sure that the party
never
stops.
The goal is 20,000 fans, 500 racers and 80 companies represented in the
manufacturer’s midway. If you’re a racer or enthusiasts, this is one
show
you can’t miss as Corporate America will be occupying the VIP tent and
deciding how much they’ll be committing to the promotion of our
culture.
Whether you are a racer that’s looking for a big sponsor or just a fan
