IDRC Leads the Race in 2002 Event Programs
More Money, More Champions, More Coverage, Less Travel

Thanks to the continued support of our existing sponsors and the additional support of our newest sponsors, the IDRC is proud to offer the best program for racers in 2002.
The 2002 season will feature a 15-event schedule that includes the IDRC National Championship along with three Divisional Championships. The organization "By the racers, For the Racers" will have a 10-race $120,000 National Championship, a 6-race $30,000 East Coast Divisional Championship, a 4-race $25,000 Central Divisional Championship and a $25,000 4-race West Coast Championship. Every single National Championship race will be televised along with the IDRC biggest East-Coast event, "Summer Slam", for a total of 11 nationally televised events in 2002. Local Television will cover the remaining four events. All national IDRC event coverage will be provided by ESPN-2.
"In 2001, the IDRC’s program was number one in a number of categories, including coverage and event attendance. For 2002, our existing sponsors and our new sponsors allow us to have a program that’s number one in every measurable category," says National Director Michael Ferrara.
IDRC $500,000 Racing Series, #1 For the Racers
For the racers, IDRC will deliver the highest payouts to the racers. All totaled, over $500,000 in cash will be awarded to the racers through the individual-event, Divisional and National Championship payouts. In addition, a projected 1.5-million dollar posted contingency will provide the richest series for import and sport compact racers.

All totaled, the IDRC per event payouts will exceed $300,000 during the 2002 season. All of the 2002 IDRC National Championship series events will deliver over $22,000 in payouts.

IDRC respects and supports ALL of today’s import and sport compact racers. The aim of the IDRC rulebook is to make a level playing field, not to exclude racers. Once again, hybrid competitors (using an engine different from chassis manufacturer) and old-school (Pre-’85) imports are welcome in competition.

11 Nationally Televised Events, ESPN-2. New for 2002, the IDRC is working to have its entire airtime schedule confirmed before the start of the season. The schedule can then be advertised and promoted in all IDRC advertising for 2002.
